DINNER & SILENT AUCTION
Proceeds to WaterCan to benefit the Dawello School in Ethiopia Brigden Fairgrounds, Brigden, ON Friday, November 06, 2009 Kaitlynn Anderson has independently fundraised for WaterCan for the past 3 years raising over $8,000. She has received support from organizations like 6th Line United Church, Petrolia Topic, Suncor Energy, Victoria Playhouse Petrolia, Sarnia Rotary Club, Libro Financial, local band 3rd Wave, and many others. On November 6th, 2009, we will be hosting a dinner and silent auction with guest speaker Gary Pluim (Executive Director of WaterCan). The Dawello School in Ethiopia has 1102 students and 24 teachers. They have NO WATER and only 1 worn down latrine. With funds raised, WaterCan will build a 75,000 litre rain water harvesting tank, and 2 latrine blocks with 8 stalls in each. Hygiene education and maintenance education to community elders will be a large part of the project as well.
